Key Features
Sentinel, Pegasus, shield & Pack-a-Punch
- Open the Amphitheater and interact with the Sentinel Artifact. Headshot the skeletons so they stay dead, then survive until Pegasus finishes the lockdown. Find the Golden Bridle on its pedestal at either Intersection of Treasuries, between the red crystal and cart, or Stoa of the Athenians beside the descending stairs. Kill the Gegenees it summons and collect the shield body.
- Collect Apollo’s Will’s handle and spear, then build the shield at the Marketplace bench beside the Saug wallbuy. Ride Pegasus from the blue circle at Spartan Monument to River of Sorrow. Open both eagle cages with your Specialist: shoot down the hanging Python Pass cage first; the other is on the ground in Cliff Ruins by the Koshka. Go to Center of the World and survive until the eagles reveal Pack-a-Punch.
- Handle group, River Pass / Upper Road bridge: lower bridge support, rock near the upper bridge, or rock in the river underneath.
- Spear group: Stoa of the Athenians behind the Mozu wall; Intersection of Treasuries opposite Mozu; or statue base across from Auger DMR.
- The shield body comes from a Gegenees. Use shield spear throws at its head when later Gegenees need to be killed.
- Fast-travel portals open after Pack-a-Punch. Collect the three Pegasus Strike parts during this first Dark Side visit to save a later search.
- Melee purple-glowing containers or rock piles to reveal Dormant Hands. The Oracle in Temple of Apollo gives a location clue; enable subtitles and choose the phrase in the helper to see its screenshot. Take a Dormant Hand to a shrine, survive its colored-circle initiation and collect the Fallen hand. Return held hands to their shrines when switching branches.
- Recommended progression: Redeemed Charon for the statues; Fallen Gaia for roots; Redeemed Hemera for the beam; Redeemed Ouranos for the ballista.
- Any Dormant Hand can be dedicated to any god. Its hiding place does not force the element.
- Solo and smaller teams can leave Gaia at Fallen unless someone will use it in the theater. Four players need all four hands Redeemed for that stage.
- Do not wait for Exalted upgrades to start the quest; the side branch below is optional.

Main Quest
Eternal Flame, statues & gears
- Start tribute challenges at the bowls in Temple of Apollo or Cliff Ruins. Keep completing tasks to raise your personal reward rarity, then claim rewards at the Temple pillars. The Eternal Flame needs nine tribute points per player in the match: Common = 0.5, Rare = 1, Legendary = 4, Epic = 6. Check that the Temple flame turns blue before continuing.
Recommended solo route: one Epic and one Legendary gives ten points. In co-op, total the rewards claimed by the whole team. Merely reaching a rarity without collecting the reward does not finish the flame. If rewards cannot be claimed, finish any waiting hand-upgrade portal first.
- Melee the blue Eternal Flame with Apollo’s Will to ignite its spear. Keep the shield out and melee the three oil patches: Upper Road’s rock on the descent to the river, the top of the Treasuries stairs left of Mozu, and the Spartan Monument landing below the Stoa stairs. Reignite the spear if it goes out.
The flame consumes shield durability. Putting the shield away extinguishes it. Repair before a longer carry.
Upper Road oil patch on the route to the river. Treasuries oil patch at the top of the stairs. Spartan Monument oil patch below the Stoa stairs. - At Spartan Monument, fire a charged Redeemed Charon pool onto the ground in front of the Zeus perk statue. Stand in the pool to reveal which surrounding statue has glowing eyes. Shoot that statue with an uncharged Charon shot. Repeat with the next revealed statue until four have broken.
The targets are revealed in your own match. Shooting every statue by sight is not the puzzle solution.
- Shoot the breakable wall at each pictured location to expose two cogs. Throw Apollo’s spear when the moving small cog touches the large cog; the connected mechanism should start turning. Do all three, then go to Stoa of the Athenians. When its three rotating statues face the central white crystal, spear the final mechanism to lock them inward.
This is live timing. A photograph helps find the mechanism; there is no fixed numeric cog code to enter.
Treasuries: outside the map to the left of the Auger DMR. Treasuries: beside Mozu at the Stoa entrance. Spartan Monument: landing below the Stoa stairs. Final Stoa mechanism: throw when the statues face inward.

Gaia’s roots, Ankh & Ra’s beam
- At Offering of the Attalids, shoot the glowing root outside the map to the left of Danu with Gaia. Quickly shoot the next pair near Danu with one shot, then the next group of three between Danu and the Mystery Box with one shot. The targets must be caught as a group; if they vanish, restart at the first root.
The Fallen hand is sufficient. Keep the Gegenees spawned by successful roots alive for the Ankh before killing it for the golden pole.
The first Gaia root is left of Danu at Offering of the Attalids. - Lead that Gegenees to the crystal containing the Ankh at Intersection of Treasuries. Position yourself so its shield blast strikes the crystal; pick up the released Ankh. Now kill the root-spawned Gegenees and collect its golden pole. Put the pole in the floor sundial at Offering of the Attalids.
Alternative: if you killed the root Gegenees immediately, save its pole and use another Gegenees to release the Ankh.
Bait the Gegenees shield blast into this Ankh crystal. Place the golden pole into the floor sundial. - Give the Ankh to the Ra perk statue, then interact while holding Redeemed Hemera to lend it the hand. Defend the beam: kill the skeletons that try to block it on either side of the water. Once the far wall opens, take Ra’s scepter and give it back to the statue. Recover Hemera for later use.
- Prioritize beam-blocking skeletons over endless ordinary enemies. Pegasus Strike placed outside near the Treasuries can pull pressure away from the room.
- If the beam stops and the attempt fails, retrieve Hemera from its shrine and start the defense again.
The scepter appears in the chamber opened by Ra’s beam.
Sundial timing & theater performance
- Kill an Electric Catalyst directly on the assembled sundial. Watch the blue mark through the open window and interact with the pole when that mark has rotated under the glowing line. Repeat for the other two rings. A failed alignment flashes white; use the renewed dial state to retry.
Do not press just because the blue mark is visible in the observation window. The stop position is under the light line, so time its travel from the window.
The lit line is the stop position; follow the blue mark’s travel beneath the cover. - Each player equips a Redeemed hand and stands on its matching home circle at the Amphitheater entrance. When your color’s circle appears on the stage, move onto it and shoot only your matching targets. Use a normal shot for zombies in the stands and a charged shot for zombies on the floor. Return to your home circle when the screen goes grayscale.
- If no stage circle matches your hand, remain at your home circle until you are called.
- Complete three successful performances. The final white flash, Max Ammo and points confirm success. If the trial ends in failure, advance a round and begin again.
- Assign hands before starting so nobody swaps or borrows another player’s required weapon.
The colored home circles used to start and reset each theater performance.
Door sequence & the ballista
- At River of Sorrow, find the symbol door beside the Spitfire wallbuy. Use a bullet weapon to shoot the six panels in the numbered order in the image. Reading rows from top and columns from left, the positions are R3 C2 → R1 C2 → R3 C5 → R4 C4 → R2 C1 → R2 C4. A wrong shot clears the display; restart from the first panel.
If Shaw and Bruno are present, have both interact for the scene; with one present, use that character. If neither is in the match, any player can interact and no character scene is required.
Authentic River of Sorrow door chart, with the six required panels numbered 1 through 6. - Place Pegasus Strike on the glowing blue mark at the top of the River of Sorrow stairs to raise the ballista. From that mark, send charged Redeemed Ouranos blasts at it until it aims toward the Python. Ignite Apollo’s spear at the Temple flame, keep it equipped, travel back and run through the active Venom Trap at Python Pass. With the spear burning green, melee the ballista to fire it.
Repair the shield before the flaming-spear run. If the flame goes out, return to the Temple to relight it; green fire confirms the venom treatment.
Place Pegasus Strike on this blue mark above the River of Sorrow stairs. - The shot opens the boss portal behind Pack-a-Punch at Center of the World. Gather the team, refill weapons and shield, bring a charged Specialist and your preferred crowd-control hand, then interact together. The portal begins the final encounter.
Pegasus & Perseus — damage windows and safe islands
- Move between the three islands using their jump pads. Shoot Pegasus with your damage weapon while it passes over an island until it falls and glows orange. Immediately use your Specialist to damage the grounded, glowing boss; ordinary guns are for bringing it down. Avoid the fire/electric areas and supporting enemies while preparing the next window.
- A strong Pack-a-Punched damage weapon and a high-level Specialist are the priority. Chakrams are a useful option, but the route does not require a rare elixir or an exploit.
- Flaming spear patches can refill your Specialist quickly but also damage you. Step in briefly only with health to spare, then leave.
- When an island starts being destroyed, leave by a jump pad immediately. Forest goes first, then Fountains; move toward Columns for the final stage. Remaining on a destroyed island can end a solo run.
- After Pegasus is absorbed, Perseus attacks from the central pillar and teleports onto the remaining island. Dodge his strikes and damage him during the visit until he kneels/glows orange, then use your Specialist again. Repeat, controlling the zombies between openings. Pick up the key he drops to trigger the ending.
The four hands — Fallen and Redeemed routes
- Take a Dormant Hand to Charon’s red shrine in Python Pass and survive its initiation to get Fallen Charon. Kill with it while zombies stand in the river beside Odin at River of Sorrow. When the river turns red, drink it. Find three real Charon Obols around the Dark Side, return them to the shrine and enter the portal trial. Complete the charged-attack tutorial to receive Redeemed Charon.
- During the coin hunt your health does not regenerate. The interaction text distinguishes a real Obol from a false one; extinguishing false coins helps reduce clutter.
- River of Sorrow: check stairs near the portal, the portal landing and behind Odin toward Python Pass. Python Pass: check around the Mystery Box windows and the spear by the cage.
- Center of the World: check the trap area, Ouranos shrine and bridge edge. Cliff Ruins: check Koshka, the path between cage and Mystery Box, the forge fire and Mystery Box area.
- Initiate Gaia at the green shrine in Spartan Monument. Use Fallen Gaia on the red-crystal plants at Temple Terrace right of MOG 12, Stoa behind the Mozu wall, and Treasuries left of Auger DMR. Shoot away each plant’s crystals, collect its seedling and deposit it at Gaia. Once three are delivered, complete the portal’s charged-attack trial for Redeemed Gaia.
For a minimal solo main quest, stop at Fallen Gaia after using it for the roots. Redeem it when you want its charged crowd control or when a fourth theater player needs it.
Gaia plant at Temple Terrace, beside MOG 12. Gaia plant behind the Stoa wall. Gaia plant by the Auger DMR at Treasuries. - Initiate Hemera at the yellow shrine in Monument of Craterus. At each pictured mirror, use ordinary bullets to rotate it, then fire Hemera so the reflected light reaches a bowl. Melee that lit bowl with Hemera, sprint back and melee the shrine before the light fades. Deliver all three lights and finish the portal trial.
If the light expires, collect it from the bowl again and retry the route. Open the return path before carrying it.
Gymnasium Bathhouse mirror orientation. Upper Road mirror orientation. Temple Terrace mirror orientation. - Initiate Ouranos at the blue shrine in Center of the World. With the hand, fling a zombie into each giant arrow: left of Pack-a-Punch, near Charon’s shrine in Python Pass, and left of the Cliff Ruins Mystery Box. Shoot the released feather while airborne to send it onward toward the shrine. Deliver all three and complete the portal trial for Redeemed Ouranos.
The nearby Center of the World feather needs one redirect; the farther two need two. If a feather falls, repeat its arrow. An arrow falling out of place confirms its delivery.

Pegasus Strike — build the required equipment
- Collect one part from each Dark Side spawn group, then craft Pegasus Strike at the forge stump/table area in Cliff Ruins. This equipment is needed to raise the ballista and is useful for the Ra beam defense.
- Anvil, Cliff Ruins: in front of Koshka; base of the broken pillar near the Mystery Box; or path descending from the Mystery Box to the forge.
- Hammer, Python Pass: below a torch on the shrine-to-cage path; by the cage near Titan; or near the Mystery Box.
- Tongs, River of Sorrow: left of the symbol wall/portal; in the fire beside Odin; or by the zombie window on the stairs near the portal.
Optional Exalted hands — shared trials
- With a Redeemed hand and the blue Eternal Flame available, ignite Apollo’s spear. Throw it over the bowl on the pillar outside Temple of Apollo to light the gas. At each god shrine, kill its matching catalyst inside the colored circle, then feed ordinary zombie souls until it stops accepting them.
- Gaia needs Fire; Hemera needs Electric; Charon needs Poison; Ouranos needs Water.
- Each completed shrine lights its matching symbol above Pack-a-Punch. These colors do not mean that the same-colored catalyst belongs at that shrine; use the explicit pairings.
- When all four shrines are charged, bring a fully loaded Redeemed hand to Pack-a-Punch and interact to start the trials. They run in order: Gaia’s catalysts, Ouranos’s skeletons, Hemera’s Gegenees, then Charon’s Blightfathers. Ammunition is limited. Refill between visits and enter again for the next trial.
Any Redeemed hand can be used for the trials; co-op players can share the work. You do not have to redeem all four just to start this optional branch. Once all trials are done, Redeemed hands can be upgraded to Exalted at Pack-a-Punch for free.
Optional Stormbound music
- Shoot the four hidden coins: inside the zombie window left of the Marketplace shield bench; on the bloody wall/handrail at Spartan Monument; at the statue base near Odin in River of Sorrow; and underneath the table beside the Cliff Ruins forge. All four activate Stormbound.
Sources and review
Cross-checked with the r/CODZombies wiki, COD Zombies Guides and mmmrkennedy. The main route uses Fallen Gaia plus Redeemed Charon, Hemera and Ouranos; every theater participant needs a Redeemed hand. Exalted upgrades are optional. This revision has not been verified in a complete in-game run.
